Shot Putting Contest.

The first of the four weekly shot-putting contests was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in the Gymnasium. Eight competitors took part. The longest put was made by E. H. Clark L. S., a distance of 37 ft. 3 in.; second, C. J. Paine, Jr., '97, 37 ft.; third, F. G. Shaw '97, 35 ft. 1 1-2 in. Each contestant was allowed six puts. The averages were:
