The Harvard Chess Club team was beaten by the players from the Young Men's Christian Union last evening at the rooms of the Boston Chess Club. The score was 7 1-2 to 4 1-2.
The candidates for the baseball team began regular batting practice yesterday. The cage is open daily from 10 to 1 and two pitchers are on hand to pitch to the men when they have unoccupied time between recitations.
