The weekly meeting of the Freshman Debating Club was held last night in Sever 11. The question under discussion was: "Resolved, That the United States Senators should be elected by popular vote." The speakers for the affirmative were: G. A. Morison and R. W. Foster; for the negative, F. W. Buxton and A. Jay. About forty men were present, a considerable number of whom spoke from the floor. The debate was finally decided in favor of the negative.
A business meeting was held at the close of the debate at which it was decided if possible to arrange a debate with the Sophomore class.
