OBITUARY.

Caleb Williams Loring '39.

Caleb W. Loring, an eminent Boston lawyer, died last Friday at Camden, S. C., in the eightieth year of his age. He was the son of Charles Greely Loring who was one of Boston's noted lawyers and a contemporary and friend of Webster and Rufus Choate.

Mr. Loring graduated from Harvard College in 1839 and received the degree of L. B. from the Law School in 1842. Joining his father's law firm he became an extensive practitioner in Boston and vicinity, and also had many cases before the Supreme Court at Washington. During the later years of his life he was not in active business life.
