The annual match between the Harvard and Andover Chess clubs will take place this evening at seven o'clock sharp in Upper Dane.

The preliminary list of possible candidates for the intercollegiate tournament has been sent to New York. Harvard's two representatives will be chosen from the following: E. E. Southard 1M., J. Hewins, Jr., '98, P. W. Long '98, H. C. Ffoulke '98, F. E. Thayer '99, W. C. Arensburg 1900, C. F. C. Arensburg 1901, J. C. Davis 1901, H. V. Poor 1901.
In the first round of the inter-class matches, '98 will play '99, and 1900 will play 1901. Each man is to play two games with every man on the opposing team, and all games must be finished by the Christmas vacation. The class teams have been determined upon as follows:
