PHILADELPHIA, PA., Nov. 25th, 1897.- Pennsylvania defeated Cornell this afternoon on Franklin Field by a score of 4 to 0, in one of the liveliest games of the season. During the first half Cornell put up the better game, and for twenty-one minutes in the second half prevented Pennsylvania from scoring.

U. of P. used effectively their guardsback play and tried several tricks. Young of Cornell was out-kicked by Minds. Cornell tried an "ends and tackles over" play, which was successfu in making gains around the end.

Paul Dashiel and W. A. McClung of Lehigh acted as umpire and referee. The touchdown for U. of P. was made by McCracken.
