The statement we publish this morning from Captain Cabot will effectually clear away the mass of rumor and misinformation which has been flying about for the last few days concerning the football men. Of course the wearing of the "H" is regulated by the Athletic Committee and no summary action could be of effect without a change of the rules which are now in force. The measure was, then, necessarily voluntary. Far from showing that the coaches have taken such harsh measures to awaken the team to a sense of responsibility, the whole episode offers strong proof that the men feel more keenly than any one else the mortification of Saturday's failure and are determined to set themselves right in the Pennsylvania game, their only opportunity. It is hardly necessary to add that the University feels confident that whatever the outcome of the game, the Harvard team will play in a manner to redeem itself.
