NEW HAVEN, CONN., Oct. 7, 1897.
Two of the liveliest matches of the Intercollegiate Tournament took place this morning. Hooker of Yale, met Thomson of Princeton; Thomson winning after a hard five set match. The two Harvard men, Whitman and Forbes, then met and Forbes won. Whitman was wearied by his recent hard work and fell an easy victim to Forbe's swift drives.
Whitman and Ware won the championship in the doubles by defeating Ward and Davis, 8-6, 7-5, 9-7. Thomson and Forbes meet in the final singles tomorrow.
