ALL candidates for the '98 football team be on Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock this afternoon.

PIERIAN SODALITY.- Business meeting after trial tonight.

A CLASS for the study of the Bible as literature,- that is of the books of the Bible, their origin and authorship, their time and place, their contents, and their relation to the history of the peoples to whom they were given,- will be formed at the Shepard Memorial Church on Sunday, and will meet every Sunday at 12 o'clock. The class will be under the charge of Professor J. W. Platner, of the Harvard Divinity School. All students are cordially invited.

CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.- First meeting of the year this evening at 6.45 in Holden Chapel. Leader, E. B. Barton '98.

LACROSSE MEETING.- There will be an important meeting of the members of last year's lacrosse team at 36 Matthews tonight at 7 o'clock.

TEACHERS wanted at the Prospect Union, especially for classes in bookkeeping, arithmetic, telegraphy, history, economics, and architectural drawing; also men to give one evening per week for a few weeks to serving the Union in other ways. Please apply at 22 Grays between 10 and 11 a. m., any day this week.

PIERIAN SODALITY.- Trials of candidates Thursday and Friday, October 7 and 8, at 7 p. m., in Roberts Hall. All men playing any orchestral instrument are urged to come and bring solo. Men playing wood or brass wind instruments are particularly urged to try.

CENTRAL NEW YORK CLUB.- A smoker will be held in 45 Matthews Hall on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 8 p. m. All members of the University who come from Central New York are cordially invited.

A MEETING of the Rifle and Revolver Club will be held in Sever 8 at 5 p. m., on Friday, Oct. 8. All men interested in shooting are invited to attend.

HARVARD ENGINEERING SOCIETY.- All students of civil engineering and mining are cordially invited to attend a meeting of the Civil Engineering Section at 46 Grays, Thursday evening, Oct. 7, at 7. 45. Mr. J. S. Francis '97, will speak on the work of the Metropolitan Water Board.
