The last match in the doubles tournament was played Saturday morning at Longwood, and resulted in a victory for H. Ward 1900, and D. Davis 1900, over J. D. Forbes '99, and W. M. Scudder '99.
With the exception of Scudder's bad lobbing, the match was well played throughout, and was very close. In the third set, Forbes and Scudder had a lead of 3-1 and thirty love, but lost it through their own poor playing and Ware's good volleying.
By winning this match Ward and Davis won second place in the doubles, and will represent Harvard this week at New Haven.
The summary is as follows:
H. Ward 1900, and D. Davis 1900, beat J. D. Forbes '99, and W. M. Scudder '99, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
