The Sophomore eleven showed an unusual development of strength for a light weight team, in their game with Hopkinson yesterday, which they won by a score of 6-4.
1900 was strongest at the tackles and ends, though they were considerably weakened at end by the loss of Beardsell, who broke his collar bone during the game, and at halfback by McCornick who has been compelled to give up playing. There was a great confusion of signals by Edmunds and the backs in general, but otherwise the team play was fairly good. Adsit and Talbot played the best game for 1900 and Sargent for Hopkinson.
The line-up follows:
1900-Haughton, l. e.; Morison, l. t.; Wheeler, l. g.; Curtis, c.; Fabyan, r. g.; Talbot, r. t.; Beardsell, Clarke, r. e.; Edmunds, q. b.; Adsit, l. h. b.; Martin, r. h. b.; Clough, f. b.
Hopkinson-Clarke, r. e.; Hawes, r. t.; Nickerson, Sargent, r. g.; Sargent, Frothingham, c.; Ladd, l. g.; Emory, Nickerson, l. t.; Herman, l. e.; Willis, Cole, q. b.; Whitman, r. h. b.; Knowles, Brooks, l. h. b.; Noyce, Emory, f. b.
