The University directory, which is put on sale today at Amee's and at Thurston's, shows a healthy gain in registration over last year. The figures of course are as yet incomplete and during the next few weeks will probably be slightly increased. The figures as they stand show a total registration in the University this year of 3739, last year's figures being 3590. The gain over last year in total registration is thus seen to be 149, as compared with a gain of 24 in last year's figures over those of the year before. Of the total this year, 2531 are enrolled in the departments under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, namely, the College, the Graduate School, and the Scientific School. Last year's figures in these departments were 2400, being 131 less than this year's. The Law School has enrolled 501 men, the Medical School 533, and the other departments 174. The gain made this year can not yet be accurately given, but it is safe to presume that when the Catalogue comes out in December, the figures will show an even greater gain than they do at present.
