THE ELEVEN.

Practice Yesterday.- Game with Amherst Today at 4 o'clock.

The 'Varsity football squad had a very light afternoon's work yesterday. None of the squads were out early and all of the available time was spent in running through the signals. Ex-Captain Wrightington gave the backs valuable points on the formation of interference and got them to playing together and starting quicker. Sawin was at right half in place of Brown, throughout the practice, and showed up well in most of the plays. Considering the unfavorable conditions of rain and a slippery field, the running of the backs was decidedly encouraging.

This afternoon at 4 o'clock Harvard will meet Amherst on Soldiers Field. Amherst's light-weight team which Yale, with a substitute eleven, so easily defeated last week, by a score of 18 to 0, should not play a very aggressive game against Harvard's superior line.

The probable line-up will be as follows:

HARVARD. AMHERST.

Moulton, r. e. l. e., Ballantine.
