Eighty-two men responded to the call for candidates for the Senior, Junior and Sophomore crews last night at the meeting held in the Trophy Room of the Gymnasium.

Captain Goodrich spoke to the men, out-lining the work for the coming year. He said there would be no general call of candidates for the 'Varsity crew this year, and that the eight men who were selected by Mr. Lehmann after the trial race last fall, with the addition of J. B. Moulton '98, substitute on last year's crew, constitute for the present the University crew. All other candidates must come out for their class crews. As men come up in their class boats they will be taken to the 'Varsity on trial and the men whose places they take will drop back to their class crews.

M. S. Duffield '97, H. Adams '98, and B. H. Dibblee '99, the class crew captains, then took the names of the candidates.
