Professor Hanus delivered the first of two lectures to be given this month by the Department of Education in Sever 11 last night on "Recent Educational Progress."
College interest at Yale is centered in the Junior Promenade, which occurs January 19, and in its attendant Germans and the Glee Club concert. Great efforts are being made by those in charge to reduce all expenses as far as possible, as this feature is in danger of increasing to such a degree as to bar out many men in the University.
The Freshman Debating Club will hold a meeting this evening at 7 p. m. in Sever 11. The question for debate is: "Resolved, That the United States Navy should be further increased."
Mr. Irving Babbitt, of the French Department, gave a talk last evening before the Cercle Francais, on "Victor Hugo et la Critique Contemporaine." The meeting was well attended.
