Freshman Crew.

Since the last of March the Freshman Crew has been rowing regularly on the river, coached the greater part of the time by P. D. Rust '98, last year's 'varsity coxswain. On Thursday last, Nelson Perkins, captain of the '91, winning eight, coached the crew, and it is hoped that his services can be obtained as a regular coach, although his business may prevent it. During vacation the crew will stay in Cambridge and row twice a day. Thomson who has been laid up by sickness since before the crew went on the river, has returned, and is rowing number 6.

The order of the crew is: Stroke, Boardman; 7, McDuffie; 6, Thomson; 5, Donald; 4, Perkins; 3, Whitbeck; 2, Swift; bow, Dibblee.

The substitutes are Sargent, Holden, Sampson and Mills.

The principal fault of the crew is, that the men do not row the stroke way through, and have a tendency to hang at the full reach. The men are also slow in turning back on their oars after the catch.
