Bishop John H. Vincent conducted the Vesper Service yesterday afternoon.
The true, great men of the past, he said, are not dead, they are still living among us; for through their disciples and imitators, their souls once more come to life. They are re-incarnated not through their will but through ours. We must strive to follow their example, although we can never hope to reach the degree of perfection they did.
Greatest among those whom we must emulate is Jesus Christ. He came and left, but only that He might come again. We must reproduce his spirit, not by vain yearnings after ideals, but by act and deed.
The choir sang "Hearken unto Me," by A. Sullivan, and "O, Great Jehovah," by Mozart. D. M. Babcock '77, bass soloist in the New Old South Church, Boston, sang the refrain of the second an them and Handel's "Largo."
