Last night the Christian Association held an informal meeting and social in Holden Chapel. R. C. Thomas '96 presided and the principal speaker was Rev. Alexander McKenzie, who spoke of the annual World's Student Conference held at Northampton, Mass.
This conference begins the last Friday in June and lasts ten days, during which time there is always something going on of interest to college students. Dr. McKenzie gave an interesting account of the life and work of Mr. Moody, who is the leader of the affair. College men from all over the country come to this convention, about four hundred being present last year and thirty-five denominations being represented. Last year the Harvard delegation numbered eighteen and it is hoped to double the number this year.
Among the other speakers were W. W. Comfort 2G., chairman of the Harvard Northfield Committee, Orr '96, and Fales '97, all of whom spoke in favor of Northfield.
During the evening music was furnished by a double quartette from the Glee Club, and after the meeting refreshments were served.
From time to time notices about the convention will appear in the CRIMSON and any man interested may obtain information and circulars by sending his name and address to W. W. Comfort, 42 Walter Hastings.
