To the Editors of the Crimson:
When the University offers the Cambridge public the opportunity of hearing distinguished lecturers, it seems that the least which can be asked of them is that they shall extend a ladylike and a gentlemanly courtesy to the speaker. But last evening in Sanders Theatre there was a score of men and women who displayed the utmost udeness not only to Prince Wolkonsky, but to the rest of the audience, by leaving the theatre with more or less disturbance while the lecture was in progress. Unfortunately there were many members of the University who in this way also showed their inability to understand the first principles of gentlemanly behavior. Of course those who made themselves noticeable last evening probably did not realize that they were giving a pitiable confession of ignorance, in so far as they could not appreciate Prince Wolkonsky's charmingly poetic talk upon Russian literature.
