The candidates for the senior crew have been reduced to 16 men, who are rowing in two crews in this order:
FIRST. SECOND.
Greenough, 158, Stroke, Frothingham, 153
Dorman, 160, 7 Mathews, 161
Bremer, 155 6 Smith, 146
Jones, 163, 5 McKittrick, 150
Wadsworth, 153, 4 Rogers, 170
Blagden, 165, 3 Munro, 155
Addison, 168, 2 Barret, 168
Bull, 173 Bow, Bell, 165
Of last year's crew Frothingham is the only man who has as yet come out, but Kales, who is at present coaching the freshman eight, C. Brewer, Fairchild and Derby will all probably row later. Still-man is with the 'varsity squad so that he will not be available for his class crew. Of the two remaining men composing last year's eight, Mann has left college and Captain Forbes has been so busy coaching that he has not rowed at all as yet, but will begin soon.
The men are being coached by Forbes and Derby. The work is light, consisting of a short row on the machines, chest weights, and a quick run outdoors. It is probable that their stroke will remain about the same, as the stroke that has been used so successfully by '96 for two years, bears a close resemblance to that of the 'varsity this year. They have not yet begun strict training.
