In the Christmas number of Harper's Weekly Caspar Whitney urges that college faculties ought to put an end to "these football junketings which every year, about this season, are labelled 'the annual holiday trip' of the Yale or Princeton or Harvard, as the case may be, 'consolidated football team'."

We believe that Harvard discountenances such trips as strongly perhaps, as Mr. Whitney himself, and he should hesitate before connecting the name of Harvard with such semi-professional "junketings." As a matter of fact Harvard has not for a number of years, never we believe since the difference between the amateur and the professional was clearly defined, sent out such team after the regular football season was ended.

The Yale Alumni Weekly also asserts its disapproval of these trips and protests against the use of the word "Yale" in the name of a team which is to be taken south this Christmas by a Yale graduate.
