The movement toward adopting an intercollegiate golf tournament, as one of the recognized athletic contests, between the large colleges is a most satisfactory step. The game has been growing popular so rapidly that it will undoubtedly occupy a prominent place among American sports in the near future, especially since the qualities required in a successful golf player are skill and steadiness rather than remarkable physical endowments.

Though the difficulty of procuring a suitable course will to some extent hamper the college club which is to be formed, there are several clubs in the neighborhood of Cambridge which allready include numbers of Harvard men among their members. Several of these men are players of considerable ability and experience, and there should be no difficulty in getting together a strong team to represent the College.
