The defeat Saturday, while not wholly unexpected, was a severe disappointment to us all. But the remarkably strong defensive work, particularly in the first half of the game, of an eleven so weakened to start with by injuries, convinces us that Harvard has a very strong eleven, and that if no more serious injuries occur, it will end the season with a victory November 21.

The defeat can not be explained away however. The touchdowns were not made on "flukes" or lucky plays. The whole game was one of clean, careful, and closely contested, "football, and Princeton won because she had the better team.

It now lies with us all, players and supporters alike, to make every effort to win the two remaining games. The team knows its part and will do it conscientiously and well. The rest of us should know ours. We can show our interest and encourage the team by attending in large numbers as many of the remaining practice games as are open to the public.
