It is generally regretted, class feeling laid aside, that the Freshmen eleven should receive another defeat yesterday. The good spirit and improvement shown by the team lately in spite of their wellknown difficulties deserved a better outcome to the game.

But the defeat will not, it is earnestly hoped, discourage the eleven. It certainly should not. For the recent upheaval in the team, and the almost new beginning made necessary by it, made a defeat neither wholly unexpected nordisheartening.

In the game with Pennsylvania the Freshmen have an opportunity to put a very creditable end to a season which has been so far not very successful. That the team will do its utmost to represent the class and the University creditably, its pluck and hard work of late gives assurance. And there is equally strong assurance that all will support and encourage them in their efforts.
