The 'Varsity squad, resting after the hard Saturday game, had very light work yesterday afternoon. The first eleven simply ran through signals, and later indulged in secret practice. They lined up as follows: Cabot l. e.; Mills l. g., Lee r. t., Moulton r. e., Beale q. b., Sullivan l. h., Dunlop r. h., Brown f. b. Brewer and Wheeler, who were out with the first eleven, simply ran around the field several times. Donald, who was also out in football clothes, took very little exercise and went in early. Merriman was on the field, but not dressed to play, and one leg is in a splint. F. Shaw was around on crutches. Brown practiced kicking goals, succeeding in six out of eight trials.
Among those watching the practice were Crosby, Deland, Major Higginson and Colonel Hallowell.
While the first eleven was practicing on the enclosed field, the second and third elevens were working hard on the adjoining fields. They, too, merely went through signals, rehearsing principally trick plays. Wrightington coached them and kept the men on the jump. The second eleven line-up was: Lewis l. e., Woodward l. t., Burden l. g., Hoague c., Sargent r. g., Swain r. t., Graydon r. e., Cochrane q. b., Brine l. h. b., Cozzens r. h. b., Dibblee f. b. The third eleven line-up was: Fay l. e., Seaver l. t., Lloyd l. g., Tiffany c., Jaffray r. g., Tuckerman r. t., Richardson r. e., W. dsworth q. b., Dayton l. h. b., Hurley r. h. b., Cottrell f. b.
The weights of the men now playing on the first eleven are: Cabot 172, Mills 181, Bouve 203, Doucette 220, N. Shaw 205, Lee 168, Moulton 172, Beale 157, Sullivan, 160, Dunlop 163, Brown 160. All of these seem to have recovered from the effects of the Carlisle game except Norton Shaw, whose knee still troubles him a little. It is barely possible, but hardly probable, that Wheeler will be able to play in the Princeton game. Donald may get around into shape for the Pennsylvania game. However, if Brewer and Cabot are on the ends they should strengthen the tackles materially.
