Today at two o'clock on Soldiers Field the Freshman elevens of Harvard and Pennsylvania will meet in their annual game. The Pennsylvania team left Philadelphia yesterday under the charge of Carl Williams, captain of last year's 'varsity team, and arrived in Boston at seven o'clock this morning, where they are staying at the Brunswick Hotel.
This is the most important match of the year for both teams. Last year Harvard won at Philadelphia by the score of 12 to 4. This year the game is very much in doubt as there has been no way of comparing the two teams.
The line-up will be as follows:
HARVARD 1900. U. OF P. 1900.
Heard (Capt.), l. e. r. e., Stoll.
Gray, l. t. r. t., Cheney.
Boal, l. g. r. g., Pierce.
Kidder, c. c., Kervey.
Burden, r g. l. g., McCracken.
Talbot, r. t. l. t., Evans.
Davis, r. e. l. e., Stevenson.
Hatch, q. b. q. b., Dennison.
Hurley, l. h. l. h., Coombs.
Parker, r. h. r. h., Folwell (Capt.)
Irwin-Martin, f. b. f. b., Brenlinger.
The officials selected are: Corbin, of Yale, umpire; Irving Garfield, of Williams, referee; and F. Wood. B. A. A., linesman.
During the game on Soldiers Field the progress of the Harvard-Pennsylvania and Yale-Princeton games will be bulletined on the patent Irwin score boards at the north end of the field. Special wires will be run to these boards and every play will be reproduced as it occurs in New York and Philadelphia.
