Freshman Debating Club.

The second regular meeting of the Freshman Debating Club was held last evening. There was a good attendance and much interest was shown in the debate. The subject for debate was: "Resolved, That the United States should interfere in the Cuban Rebellion in favor of the Insurgents." The speakers were S. B. Snow and J. F. Morrison for the affirmative, and E. Sachs and J. E. McCloskey for the negative. When the debate was thrown open to the house many men spoke from the floor. After the debate F. C. Sutro, secretary of last year's Debating Club, addressed the meeting.

F. C. Smith was elected temporary chairman of the meeting for next week. The subject for debate was announced as "Resolved, That capital punishment be abolished." The speakers for the affirmative will be F. W. Aldrich and S. B. Southwort; for the negative, T. H. Eaton and R. L. Read.
