Senior Eleven.

The senior eleven has been doing steady work this fall and is now in fairly good condition for the game with '98 on Friday. It is generally considered that '97 has rather the best chance to win this game for the eleven seems to be fully as strong as the championship team of last year, while '98 has not done any remarkable work this season. There is little doubt that the winner of this match can defeat either the Sophomores or the Freshmen.

The line-up of the Senior eleven will probably be as follows: Fenno, l. e.; Sleeper, l. t.; Williams, l. g.; Fitzgerald, c., O'Connor, r. g.; Scannell, r. t.; Rantoul (Capt.). r. e.; Garrison, q. b.; Little, h. b.; Scattergood, h. b.; Hallowell, f. b.

Of these men all except O'Connor, Little and Scattergood played last year. Rantoul and Fenno, the two ends, play a reliable game, though Fenno has some trouble in following the ball on account of weak eyes. Scannell has only played a few days, but is in good condition and will strengthen the line immensely. Sleeper, the other tackle, is not playing nearly as well as last year. The three centre men are all steady players. Garrison at quarterback is the mainstay of the team, as he has excellent judgment and puts lots of snap into the play. Hallowell can be depended on to punt well, though he is not particularly strong at running with the ball. Scattergood is a new man from Haverford, where he had quite a reputation as a football player. He has been laid up recently but will probably be all right on Friday. Little has improved rapidly and is likely to be the third back.

Altogether the team is very well ballanced and generally plays steadily rather than brilliantly. During the season the team has not lost a game, which is much better than it did last year.
