Forum Trial Debate.

The Harvard Forum held a competitive debate for membership last evening in Harvard 1 on the subject:

"Resolved, That the execution of the financial policy of the Chicago platform would be a national disaster."

There was a large audience. The debate was opened with a speech on the affirmative by W. S. Youngman, L. S., and he was followed on the negative by K. Stone, 2 L. S. At the close of his speech, Mr. Stone, who is not a member of the Forum, was extended a vote of thanks for his kindness in presenting the silver side of the question.

The debate was then thrown open to the house and twenty-one candidates spoke. Professor Briggs and F. R. Steward L. S., served as judges.
