The Harvard Natural History Society held its first meeting of the year in 18 Matthews last evening. Plans for the work of the coming year were discussed and the following officers were elected: President, Charles P. Davenport, Ph. D., vice-president, Oakes Ames '98; secretary and treasurer, William L. W. Field, L. S. S.
In pursuance with a vote of the society, Dr. Davenport made the following appointments: Chairman of Section of Ornithology and Mammology, William H. Phelps '97 L. S. S., Chairman of Entomological Section, William L. W. Field; Chairman of Section of Phoenogarnic Botany, Merritt L. Fernald.
It is the intention of the society to organize additional sections in the near future.
