Henry Du Pont Irving of the class of ninety-seven, died at his home on Staten Island at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. Irving was born in staten Island on March 21, 1875. He entered Harvard from St. Paul's school where he had spent several years. At school he identified himself with athletics, and in his last year stroked the Halcyon crew. In his freshman year at college he was elected temporary captain of his class football team, and later in the year stroked the freshman crew in its race with Yale.
Irving was a very popular man with his own classmates, and was generally known and esteemed throughout the college. He was a member of the D. K. E. and the Institute of 1770.
