At the meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, held yesterday afternoon, a motion to prohibit students from participating in intercollegiate football contests was defeated by a considerable majority. This vote probably finishes the faculty's discussion of the intercollegiate football question for the present, and leaves its settlement with the Athletic Committee, in accordance with the recent votes of the Corporation and the Board of Overseers.
