After the disappointment of the intercollegiate games, it is pleasing to notice a marked improvement in the playing of the University nine. Coming as it does just before the game with Princeton, it is particularly welcome. Harvard need by no means give up the hope of winning the Princeton series, but may fairly anticipate the first step towards that victory on Memorial Day. The game this afternoon will be excellent preparation. It is a pity that Harvard does not limit herself to playing non-professional teams, but there can be no question that a professional nine gives college men the best possible practice.
