46 2STUART ROBSON will inaugurate the second and last week of his engagement at the Tremont Theatre next Monday evening with the first production on any stage, of an entirely new and original comedy, written expressly for him and called "Marmaduke." In this comedy a story will be told of the many troubles, mostly humorous, that will overtake a man who allows his good nature and good disposition to be imposed upon. Marmaduke is the name of a wealthy Californian of the present day, whose palatial residence on "Nob Hill," where he keeps open house, is over-run by hangers-on, and whose boundless hospitality is shamefully abused. He is particularly beset by two so-called friends, who use his house as their own for selfish ends, the one to provide his daily food and lodgings, the other to secure a husband for his daughter. Interwoven with the main plot are the adventures of Marmaduke's god-son, Alfred Wemyss, who has got himself entangled in a love affair with the wife of a fiery Mexican, Don Guzman. The play is in three acts. The scenes, three in number, are laid in San Francisco, at the present day.

SONG RECITAL. - One of the most interesting recitals announced this season is that of Miss Marie Brema, the mezzo soprano of the Damrosch German Opera Co., and Mr. Plunket Greene, the noted young basso, who will be heard at Music Hall next Tuesday afternoon, April 9th. Miss Brema has been the artistic sensation of the year both in New York and Boston, and the demand for her services outside the opera has been very large. Mr. Greene has made a splendid name for himself both in England and America for his oratorio work and artistic ballad singing, and the combination of two such talented artists will surely be productive of fine results. Prices will range from 75c. to $1.50, and are now on sale at the hall.
