At a meeting of the '97 nine yesterday W. L. Garrison was elected temporary captain.
The candidates will be called out today and the nine settled upon as soon as possible. Most of last year's nine will play again this year, but the nine will be very weak in the box.
The team will begin to play games as soon as possible, and will probably play its first game with Hopkinson's the last of this week.
