Rev. S. M. Crothers conducted the Vesper Service at Appleton Chapel, yesterday afternoon. He took as the subject of his sermon, the hypocrisy which people are so often guilty of, when they try to hide their best feelings and impulses, and to appear cynical and indifferent. This hypocrisy is, he said, much more dangerous than the deceit of a man who tries to be better than he really is. A man cannot divide his allegiance. God demands his whole heart and life.
