The Yale Freshman Union's official acceptance of the challenge for a debate with the Harvard Freshman Debating Club was received yesterday. It read as follows:
"The Yale Freshman Union accept the challenge of the Harvard Freshman Debating Club, to a joint debate.
O. M. CLARK, Chairman.GEORGE M. RIPLEY.WILL N. VAILE."The committee of the Harvard Freshman Debating Club which has the matter in charge will meet in 40 Thayer this afternoon at 4.30, and will proceed to make necessary arrangements for the debate.
The regular meeting of the debating club will be held this evening in Sever 11. The question for debate is: "Resolved, That intercollegiate contests should be abolished." The principal disputants on the affirmative are: G. A. Giles, E. B. Barton, and C. B. Wood; on the negative, B. R. Robinson, F. L. Crocker, and G. H. Kinnicutt.
