There will be a trial of candidates for the Glee Club Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at seven o'clock in Lower Dane. Each candidate is expected to bring a solo.

Harvard Union.Some time ago the Harvard Union received a challenge from the Wendell Phillips Club to a joint debate, but it was then thought best to postpone it until the debate with Yale had taken place. Now that the Yale debate is over arrangements are being made by the executive committees of the two debating clubs for a joint contest. It will be held Friday, March 6.

Chess and Whist Club.There will be a meeting of the Chess and Whist Club tomorrow evening at seven o'clock. F. K. Young, for many years champion of New England, will give an exhibition of simultaneous play, and members are urged to be present. All members of the University are cordially invited.

Hereafter it is intended to have not only chess evenings but whist evenings as well, as the executive committee are anxious to stimulate interest in both of these most intellectual games, through out the University.
