PRINCETON, N. J., Dec. 2, 1895.

Probably Princeton was never more confident of winning the annual Yale game than this year. The team, almost entirely a new and inexperienced one, had trained and practiced faithfully and developed into one of the best ever seen here. Therefore the disappointment over the loss of the game was very keenly felt; but at the same time the entire college express the highest admiration of the way the men played in the latter part of the game, and with practically the same team on the field next year, great hopes are entertained of its success. The election of captain of the team will occur in a few days. Cochran '98 who played right end this year is the most prominent candidate for the position, but as it has been found by experience that a senior can succeed better than any other in this position, a large number of men advocate the election of one of the five ninety-seven men on the team.

Great interest among the undergraduates is centering on the senior class elections which will be held this week. There are quite a number of candidates in the field for the different offices in the gift of the class and public opinion has not settled definitely on any of the candidates, except on Captain Lea for Master of Ceremonies on Class Day, provided he will allow his name to be used.

The Yale-Princeton debate occurs here on Friday night of this week. This promises to be an interesting contest, for the speakers on both sides have all had experience in debating, and Princeton's especially, are all three noted prize winners in Whig and Clio Halls, besides being prominent in other spheres of activity. However, they are all undergraduates and because of this fact it is though that Yale's representatives one of whom is a Law School man and another a theologian, will be superior. However, Princeton's record in debating in the past has been her pride and every effort in the power of the debaters will be put forward to maintain that standard.

The students recognize with a great deal of satisfaction that Harvard actually outplayed her rival on Nov. 23, but there is absolutely no figuring on the position Princeton or Harvard held, as it is believed here that if Princeton, is not first, it matters little where she may be placed.
