Williams College Scholarships.

Two new scholarships have been established at Williams College the past year. One of $3500 was endowed by ex-Governor Pennoyer of Oregon, in memory of his son, who died at the college in November, 1894. In assigning this scholarship, preference is to be given to students from the state of Oregon.

The other scholarship is established under the provisions of the will of Mme. Marie Louise Souberbeille, and is to be known as the Horace F. Clark honor scholarship. The income is to be awarded as follows: $200 to the freshman passing his admission examinations with the highest percent; $200 to the sophomore and the junior heading their respective classes; $400 to the senior heading his class, provided that he engage to pursue a one year's course of graduate study to be approved by the faculty.
