The managers of the intercollegiate chess tournament which is to take place in New York during the vacation have issued a large poster announcing the tournament and stating a price of admission. Here is an admirable effort to give to a contest of brains a prominence not unlike that of an athletic game. While it will not attract as much popular interest as the more spectacular event, it is well deserving of support and Harvard men who are in New York at the time will do well to give their representatives the encouragement of their presence.
