Dr. Benjamin F. D. Adams '60.

Dr. Benjamin Faneuil Dunkin Adams, of the class of '60, died at Colorado Springs, Monday last. Dr. Adams was born in Waltham in 1839. He graduated from the College in the class of '60, and, four years later, from the Harvard Medical School, where he received the highest honors. After a year's hospital service, he went abroad to continue his studies, returning to Waltham in 1866 to practice his profession. In 1882, ill health obliged him to go to Colorado Springs where he has since lived.

Though compelled to give up work at the age of 43, Dr. Adams was recognized as one of the leading physicians of the state. He was prominent as chairman of the Waltham board of health, and did much to further the establishment there of the hospital and of the Old Ladies' Home.
