At a meeting of the Chess Club last evening the changes in tournament business suggested by the committee were ratified, viz., that the winners in the first round form a single final section, the players in which shall be eligible in the order of their scores for the intercollegiate tournament.
Following are the names of the winners (two from each section) in the preliminary round:
I. Dunn 5, Ryder 4. II. Fay 4.5, Southard 4.5. III. Davis 5, Spalding 4. IV. Mumford 3, Barnard 3. V. Peck 4, and the winner of Thayer-Holway tie.
The drawings for first move have been made by the committee in such fashion that each player moves first in either five or four of his nine games. These drawings may be seen tabulated at 1 Thayer Hall and at 3 Hollis Hall.
