It is impossible to let pass the Corporation's appointment of the Faculty and graduate members of the Athletic Committee for the present year without noting the retirement of Professor Ames from his official connection with Harvard athletics.
That the office of chairman of the Athletic Committee is a laborious one, and one requiring an almost infinite amount of patience and discretion, must be evident to everyone by this time. It is needless to add that Professor Ames has met the demands of his position in a way which has been eminently gratifying to the University which he has represented.
In behalf of the Harvard correspondents of outside papers as well as for the CRIMSON we desire to thank Professor Ames for the courtesy and patience which he has invariably shown to the representatives of the press.
