Two hundred and fifty-six men presented themselves last evening in Lower Massachusetts as candidates for the Mott Haven team. This is the largest number of men that has ever appeared for the team. They were addressed by several prominent graduates, former members of the athletic team. Among those who spoke were G. B. Morison '83, William Hooper '79, W. H. Goodwin '84, W. H. Soren, T. J. Coolidge '84, George Mandell '89, C. P. Kipp '83, D. B. Chamberlin '86, H. W. Wheelwright '94, Mr. Lathrop and N. W. Bingham '95, captain of the team. Each speaker seemed impressed with the large number of men present and said that it spoke well for Harvard that such interest was shown. They all laid stress on the fact that to win the men must from start to finish work together.

Training will begin today and there will be four squads each day at the following times: 11-12, 12-1, 3.30-4.30, 4.30-5.30.

The first games will be held with the B. A. A., on Feb. 9.

A special hour for weight men will be arranged as soon as possible.
