Mr. Hammond, captain of the winning '83 'varsity crew, will coach the candidates for the sophomore crew during the coming months. The stroke will be that which the 'varsity is now using, and the men will be started at the very beginning. All of last year's freshman crew, with the exception of Duffield and Irving, will row either on the 'varsity or their class crew.
The work, which yesterday consisted of a short run, will gradually become harder. There will be rowing only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on the other days long walks and other exercise will be taken.
