A short notice of the action taken to raise a fund for a memorial to Dr. A. P. Peabody was published yesterday. It is most desirable that there should be some memorial to one whose connection with the University was of such duration and whose services to its members were of such rare worth. Love for Dr. Peabody is a Harvard tradition.
It is hoped to secure a sum of four or five thousand dollars by a large number of small subscriptions. While the appeal for these is most naturally made to those who were Dr. Peabody's students and to those who knew him personally, it may fittingly meet with response from the undergraduates who have found here such pleasant memories of him.
