Professor Norton's reception on Christmas eve, given to students who remained in Cambridge during the recess, was attended by a large number of men. Professor Norton with the Misses Norton received the students. Miss Shaler, Miss Moore, the Misses Child, and a number of young ladies from Radcliffe College assisted in entertaining. The evening was made most interesting by the opportunity given to all to examine the many rare books and pictures Professor Norton has collected.
