The University Glee Club of New York City will give its first concert Saturday evening in the concert hall of Madison Square Garden. This is a club of college men whose object is "to encourage male voice music of the highest excellence, to give musical receptions and concerts, and to promote social intercourse among college graduates and former college students residing in or near New York City." Besides the active members, who number 52, there is a large list of associate members. The colleges represented among the active members are: Columbia 18, Princeton 10, Yale 9, Rutgers 3, Harvard 2, Union 2, University of New York 2, Amherst 2, College of the City of New York 2, Cornell 1, and Wesleyan 1. The Harvard men are J. Wendell, Jr., and R. L. McDuffie. At the concert on Saturday the club will sing, besides some of the regular college songs, glees from Mendelsshon, Van der Stucken, Clay and Helmuth. A second concert will be given on May 2.
