The batting and fielding averages of the freshman nine, which are given below, have been computed on the work of the men in the class series and Yale games only. In the class games the fielding average of the players was poorer than in the Yale games while in regard to the batting, the reverse was the case. Men who have not played in at least one entire game are not included in the following summary:
